There’s a helicopter high in the blue above my afternoon garden. To its left is a cloud which looks heavy with rain. The aircraft chugs on into the distance The rain didn’t fall and I can only imagine how lovely our summer-green county must have looked from above.  There is corn ready to be harvested at the bottom of my road. Everything is early this year, including the Buddleia blooms.  I’m always a bit sad to see these come out, in the Autumn. They are the other side of the coin from the lilac, which they closely resemble and  which come fragrantly into flower as the Spring gathers its energy. Another Spring past. Another longest day. The butterflies love the Buddleia flowers though. A parable in butterflies…
